\nThe terms “Complete Mold” or “Complete Die” are the terms used to indicate a tool that is complete and ready to make die casting parts. The complete die casting tool<\/a> fits, “as is”, into the die casting machine. This complete mold consists of a set of cavity inserts mounted inside a mold base. The moldbase has a shot hole to accommodate the shot sleeve (the tube used to inject molten metal). The moldbase also has rails so the the mold can be clamped into the die casting machine. The moldbase also has an ejector plate with ejector pins to “eject” the die casting part from the die casting tool. Inside the mold base are cavity inserts that provide the mirror image of the shape of the final die casting part. These inserts are heat treated to a greater hardness so they can withstand the higher heat and higher pressure of injected molten metal.<\/p>\n
