Reasons Why Die Cast Parts are still better

Reasons Why Die Cast Parts are still better. Have you ever wondered which is better: Die Casting Parts or Plastic parts? Which is more conducive and practical among the two? Which is more durable and reliable? It is actually a good question since in the past years plastic products keep on appearing, in rather escalating manner, in the shelves of supermarkets.

Advantages of Plastic over Metal

• Resistance to Corrosion. Plastic molded products are more resistant to different kinds of weather than products made up of metal. Plastic material can be designed to withstand many climatic conditions and it also does not corrode.

• Economical. Plastic products are simply cheaper.

• Strength. Plastic parts can be designed so it would be impact and dent resistant.

• Chemical Resistance. The fact that plastic is impermeable to a lot of chemical compounds, it is an ideal substance for a wide variety of solution tanks.

Advantages of Die Cast Parts over Plastic

• Durability and Resistance to Corrosion. Since die cast parts are made out of non ferrous metals, the possibility of the parts to corrode is minimal. Also, metal products are basically more durable than the plastic molded products. Because of that die cast parts, could accommodate harsher temperatures and more varied working condition.

• Environment – friendly. It is a given fact that plastic products are more economical than die cast parts. However, in the longer run, it is actually more impractical to use disposable products than those products that could last for a longer time.

Also, plastic takes a couple of hundred years before it will fully biodegrade. Although, plastics products are also being recycled, compared to die cast parts, the latter is still more sustainable.
